Corporate organisations asked to constantly train personnel
Mr. Frank Adu, Managing Director of Cal Bank, on Thursday called on managements of corporate organisations to constantly train their personnel to improve their performance.
He said this would help build the competencies of senior level management and staff to enable them to maintain the status quo.
Mr. Adu made the call at the launch of GIMPA Business School (GBS) new Executive Education Programmes, for senior level management personnel and Chief Executives of corporate organisations, in Accra.
The programmes have been designed to suit the leadership and contemporary management needs of senior, advanced and new managers of business institutions.
Mr. Adu asked managements of corporate organisations not to underrate local business schools since they were equally competent compared to their foreign counterparts for the training of top management personnel for the country.
He said the executive education programmes reflected world class standards grounded in local Ghanaian reality.
Mr. Adu called on managements of corporate institutions to take advantage of the programmes being offered by GBS and sponsor their senior management personnel and staff to acquire new leadership skills and managerial training.
Professor Franklyn Manu, Dean of GIMPA Business School noted that the current programmes being run by the Business School had been very popular and receiving rave reviews from participants all over Africa.
"The new programmes will be in addition to, and build on the momentum generated by the success we are experiencing in the market with our current programmes," he said.
Prof. Manu said the GBS was using the services of a programme advisor to ensure the successful implementation of the new programmes while continuing to run the current programmes.
Mr. Paul Asobayire, Programme Advisor for the GBS new Executive Education Programmes, said facilitators for the programmes were drawn from leading universities around the world including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and China.
He expressed the hope that facilitators for the course would bring their global perspective to complement GIMPA's seasoned local faculty as well as expertise of Ghanaian industry practitioners who had distinguish themselves in their respective fields to contribute to the programmes content and participate in the facilitation programmes.
Mr. Asobayire said the course had been structured in a way to promote participant-centred experiential learning using relevant case studies, role play and practical exercises.
