Akuffo-Addo congratulates new NPP A/R executives
The 2008 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has congratulated delegates and officials of the party for the successful and peaceful elections held across all the ten regions of Ghana.
In a statement signed by the presidential aspirant he noted that the elections across the nation were conducted in a peaceful, credible and efficient manner ensuring that they were exciting and competitive.
"This is to congratulate members and officers of our party across all ten regions for the peaceful, credible, efficient and successful manner in which elections for party offices have been conducted. It has been exciting and competitive". He said.
"The high level of participation, enthusiasm and camaraderie that these series of elections generated among our activists are indications of their collective energy and commitment to the struggle ahead in 2012".
He said that the NPP has gone through some difficult times following the constitutional amendments trying to nominate approximately 105,000 polling station agents, 4,000 constituency officers and some 170 regional officers however he added that this phase of party reorganization was brought to a successful conclusion with Monday’s Regional Conference at the party’s largest stronghold, the Ashanti Region.
The presidential hopeful congratulated the newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP and other newly elected executives wishing them well and the very best in their endeavour’s.
"I congratulate the Chairman, Mr. Frederick Fredua Antoh and the new executives, and wish them, along with all the other regional officers across the country, the very best".
He added, "I congratulate Mr. Robert Yaw Amankwa and all former executives across the country for their service and dedication to the cause of the party over the years and I edge all who participated in the elections, winners and losers alike, to continue to see themselves as members of the great Elephant family".
Nana Addo Dankwa added that internal party contests are not about winners and losers but about the party winning.
He charged both the winners and losers, to unite in the true spirit of the party’s tradition and rally behind the new party officers "to strengthen our resolve and singleness of purpose to capture power in 2012".
He reminded the newly elected executives that "the Ghanaian people are looking up to us to provide a strong, positive alternative to the failing government of the NDC".
